A Civil Service Officer’s Real Journey Through Struggle, Motherhood & Self-Growth

My civil service journey taught me these things. Eight years ago, I started my Civil Service Journey in Nepal with nothing but a dream and unshakeable determination.

No coaching center. No study group. No supporter by my side.Home

Just full dedication, sleepless nights, and a quiet belief — I can do this.

And on my very first attempt, I cleared the civil service examination and became an officer.

But let me tell you something — passing the exam was the easiest part of this journey.

When people hear “civil service officer,” they imagine stability, respect, and a comfortable life.

What they don’t see is the silent battle that happens before — and after — the badge.

My Civil Service Journey in Nepal began with complete isolation. No mentor. No guide. No one to answer my questions or calm my fears.

I had two choices — wait for help that was never coming, or become my own support system.

I chose to become my own support system.

Every morning, I woke up before the world. Every night, I studied long after others slept. My preparation was not just academic — it was a daily act of self-belief.

When you have no one pushing you from behind, you learn to pull yourself forward.

The Hard Truth About Government Service in Nepal

Clearing the Loksewa exam opened one door — and revealed many more challenges behind it.

The work environment was unfavorable. Office politics existed. Expectations were high but support was low.

I was alone — not just during preparation, but in professional life too.

There were days I felt invisible. Days I questioned whether my hard work even mattered. Days the silence of having no supporter felt heavier than any workload.

But I made one powerful decision:

“I will not waste energy explaining myself to others. I will invest that energy in becoming better than yesterday.”

That single mindset shift changed everything for me.

Motherhood, Complications & Carrying It All

Just when I found my professional rhythm, life handed me its most beautiful — and most difficult — chapter.

Pregnancy.

But this was not a smooth journey. There were medical complications. Physical pain demanded rest while professional responsibilities demanded presence.

There were mornings I dragged myself to work when my body begged me to stop. There were nights I lay awake — worried about my baby, my job, and everything in between.

Nobody truly understood the weight I was carrying — not just the baby, but the invisible burden of doing everything alone.

Yet I kept showing up.

Every single day.

Today, my baby is 20 months old — healthy, happy, and the greatest proof of what a woman can endure and still rise.

Every painful day was worth it.

Personal Development — The Journey of Growing in Silence

Eight years into my Civil Service Journey in Nepal, I am still growing.

I have not reached my destination — and honestly, I believe growth has no final destination. It is a lifelong process.

The biggest transformation in these eight years has not been my title or my position.

It has been my mindset.

I am still working on myself every day. Reading. Learning. Reflecting. Evolving.

I am not yet where I want to be — but I am far from where I started. And that gap — that progress — is everything.

Growth does not always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like choosing patience over reaction. Choosing silence over argument. Choosing performance over complaint.

That is the kind of growth that truly lasts.

The Most Powerful Lesson From My Journey

After 8 years of civil service, motherhood, struggle, and continuous self-improvement — one truth stands above everything else:

“Become so excellent in your performance that your results speak louder than any negativity around you.”

When no one supports you — do not beg for validation. Build something undeniable.

When the environment is unfavorable — do not fight with words. Rise above with results.

When life gets complicated — do not stop. Slow down if you must, but never stop moving forward.

Patience is not weakness. Patience is the most powerful strategy a growing person can have.

I stayed patient — not because I accepted being overlooked, but because I was quietly building something no one could ignore.

To You — Reading This Right Now

Maybe you are a Loksewa aspirant sitting alone with your books tonight, wondering if it is worth it.

Maybe you are a working mother in Nepal fighting invisible battles every single day.

Maybe you are a government employee feeling stuck, unsupported, and unseen.

Maybe you are simply someone trying to grow — in silence, without applause.

I want you to know — your struggle is real. Your effort matters. And your rise is coming.

Do not let the absence of support become the absence of progress.

Be patient. Be consistent. Be so good that the world cannot ignore you.

Because no matter where you are in your journey right now —

You deserve to grow. 🌱
